TERM 3

This term your child will continue bringing home their spelling and reading as usual (Refer below).  They will also be bringing home a maths sheet glued into their book, to complete over the week.  This sheet is to help your child practice their basic number knowledge. Could you please help your child with these, they will be repetitive as your child just needs to know these things.  The book will go home on Monday and can it pleased be returned on the Friday to be marked.

READING
For homework this term your child will be bringing home a book to read every night.  Could you please set a side 5-10 minutes to listen to your child read.  This is supposed to be a fun and stress free time for both parent and child so if your child is struggling with a word just tell them it.  Could the reading book be returned to school every morning before school begins.

SPELLING
This term your child will be bringing home a notebook with their spelling words for the week.  Could you please help your child learn to read, write, and recognise theses words. (There are some ideas on how to help your child learn these in the front of their spelling notebook). They will have 5 words a week and they will have these words until they have mastered all 5.  Could the notebook please be returned to school daily in their reading covers so they can practise them throughout the day at school.
